Dr Shale is a Lesotho-born researcher with over ten years’ experience in the field of climate change adaptation, primarily in the water and agriculture sectors across Africa. She has led research teams at international universities: Freie University in Berlin, Germany and the University of Cape Town in South Africa, on several academic and professional research projects. Her experience also covers training and consulting for development projects across Southern Africa. She also previously served as Programme Manager at VITALITE Group, a Southern African PAYGO solar company. Dr. Shale holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Town.

John is an international development professional and entrepreneur with over 15 years’ experience. He previously served as the Managing Director of VITALITE Zambia. The focus of his work is on catalyzing social, economic or environmental progress in Africa. He currently is the Managing Director at FSI Outsourcing in Lusaka, Zambia. He has past significant experience in the private sector working for
Emerging Markets Group, US based corporate CIGNA, investment bank FBR and private equity firm Brooks, Houghton. John holds a PhD from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and an MBA from Cornell University.
